Our horticultural pumice is a porous volcanic rock optimal for a wide range of soil mixtures that need better drainage and is especially suited for bonsais, succulents, and cacti. This lightweight additive prevents root rot, provides aeration and structure, and allows the root system to breathe more easily. Pumice holds onto moisture while encouraging excess water drainage, releasing moisture slowly into the soil. Add it to your favorite soil mix to help with overwatering and improve the overall health of your plant.

Our pumice is approximately 1/8” x 7/16” in size and comes packaged in volumes of 5 quarts (20 cups) or 9 quarts (36 cups).
5 Quarts = 1.25 Gallons
9 Quarts = 2.25 Gallons 


*NOTES:

  • Rinse pumice “if necessary” with water before first use to remove any little dust that has formed during shipping and transport.
  • We sell pumice by volume, which is measured and sifted/sieved at the time of packaging, but there can be a minimum of dust that may occur during shipping.
  • Free shipping through USPS or UPS Ground, in a poly bag or box. (Material will sometimes arrive moist)
  • Colors for pumice range from white to grey depending if dry or wet. Also, color might be slightly different in person than on your digital screen (See pictures for references).
  • Size of pumice varies from 1/8” - 7/16” (inches), meaning pumice will sometimes be on the smaller side and other times on the bigger side but within the approx. sizing mentioned. (See pictures for reference)
