“Fields Book Store wasSan Francisco’s oldest continually operating bookstore in its original location. It was founded by George Fields in 1932 as a center for the literati of the day. He was involved in the Gurdjieff Work, a rigorous method of awakening to the Self that emphasizes self-observation and embodied practice.

Fields had always served spiritual seekers, but in the 1960s the store fully entered the Aquarian Age and began specializing in books from the world’s spiritual traditions. From dream analysis, deja vu, tarot, meditation, acupuncture, and numerology to Mormonism and Christianity – nothing was too out there.

This vintage bookmark measures 6 1/4 by 2 inches. It has slight creasing along the top edge. Overall, this bookmark is in excellent condition. It comes from a smoke and fragrance-free home. It will be well packaged to ensure it arrives safely.
