Description and Item Information
Up for sale is this antique book about Baja California, The Mother of California, by Arthur Walbridge North. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This hardback book has a burgundy cover. The book measures approximately 8 7/8 inches by 6 inches by 1 5/16 inches and it has 169 numbered pages. The book has photo illustrations and there is a folding map affixed to one the pages in the back. The exterior of the tops of the pages have cut edges, with a burgundy finish; the exteriors of the bottoms and sides of the pages have a rough cut, deckle edge. The book weighs 1 pound 12.5 ounces, unpacked. This would be a good addition to a collection of antique books.
Identification
This book is titled, The Mother of California. It was written by Arthur Walbridge North, and the introduction was written by Cyrus C. Adams of the American Geographical Society. The book was published by Paul Elder and Company of San Francisco and New York, with a copyright date of 1908.
Condition
The cover of the book has wear in the form of lighter spots to the flat areas and edges. The cover also has minor soiling. Please see Photos 1, 2, and 3. There are separations to the interior bindings at the front and the back (Photos 15 and 16). The burgundy colored cut page edges have wear, as shown. The deckled edges have creasing (Photos 13 and 14). There are a few short page tears (example shown in Photo 7). There is a short tear where the map attaches to the book (Photo 10). There is a bit of pencil writing to the interior of the back cover (Photo 16). I did not examine each and every page, but I found no other writing when I flipped through the pages. There are no cigarette odors; only faint mustiness can be detected when held directly to the nose. Please review the description and photos, and ask any necessary questions prior to bidding or buying.

1. Payments
Taxes may be applicable. The correct shipping address must be included with payment. Contact the seller before bidding or buying to find out about acceptable payment methods for local pickups or deliveries. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made.
2. Shipping
Good packaging is included; double-boxing is not necessarily included. Framed art will not be shipped unframed. The seller usually ships on Mondays and Thursdays. The merchandise will normally be shipped on the seller's next shipping day after payment clears. The seller is not responsible for the transit time once the merchandise has been accepted by the shipping carrier.
Shipping includes delivery to a physical address via a method of the seller's choice. If the buyer prefers a different shipping method other than that chosen by the seller, or if delivery is to a post office box, additional shipping costs may be required. At the seller's discretion, a signature may be required for delivery.
Shipping quotes must be requested prior to all international bidding or buying. For international shipping, there may be parcel size restrictions or prohibitions on certain classes of merchandise. Customs forms will not be falsified.
