Booth Tarkington (July 29, 1869 – May 19, 1946) was a famous American novelist who won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction twice, The Magnificent Ambersons in 1919 and Alice Adams in 1922. Tarkington wrote several famous novels, some were filmed or adapted into the stage play - Monsieur Beaucaire, a historical romance novel was published in 1900, later was adapted to the screen, The Man from Home (1908) and The Gibson Upright (1919), two novels
from his works were also adapted into the stage play.
