This freeform display piece has been tumble polished for a smooth finish and cut flat on the bottom, allowing the piece to stand on its own nicely. This aesthetic standup is carved from Charoite, a rare mineral with glorious purple color and unique patterns of swirls, feathers and needles through the stone. The Charoite deposit located in the Murun Mountains in Yakutia, Russia is the only location in the world where this material is found. First discovered by Russian geologist in the 1950's, the name Charoite was confirmed by the Commission on New Mineral Species in 1978. Charoite is said to be the stone of the spirit. Piece weighs over 3/4 lb. A beautiful Charoite polished freeform perfect for display.
