Greetings! Thank you for joining us in order to preview an early and distinctive antiquarian folk art, one of a kind, original carved creation for any variety of collector and vintage camp and cottage accent.

Offered here is an original (circa 1920-30) unsigned, wood carved Salmon with enough original paint detailing to identify the species as RAINBOW TROUT. The early wood carving (approximate 18” length x 4” width) was well executed, affording the rustic decorator nice details and lines. The piece most likely was a tribute to an actual fish that was caught upta camp many moons ago. The paint detailing has a unique scale texture for a nice taxidermy aesthetic. The wood shows patina while being supple and durable, having been preserved beneath the original enameling that is flaking and chipping away as we speak. A goodly dominance of the original paint remains, enough so that the wood carving actually resembles a battle worn trout with a story to tell. The early trout is missing a pectoral fin, with the greater detriment being a missing dorsal fin. A piece of painted tin would be an easy remedy upon your skill and discretion. An aesthetically pleasing folk art original for any decorative arsenal of any vintage cabin retreat. Please consider the antiquarian wood carving of low grade condition, while being prepared to be pleasantly surprised. The photos shown here will provide an accurate visual description for assuring one’s maximum bid. Be sure to stake a claim now or simply follow the early folk art fish on your “Watch List”. Thank you for the kind bidness.
