Notes

Bruce Banner was a respected scientist working for the military to develop a gamma bomb. Seconds before the gamma bomb was tested, he saw a young man driving through the test area. Banner ordered the countdown stopped and raced to save the man—but a jealous research assistant neglected to stop the countdown, and the bomb exploded. Although Banner could get the boy to safety, he was caught in the gamma radiation released by the bomb. After that, whenever he became angry, he became a giant green monster with unbelievable strength. This monster became known as the Incredible Hulk.
Although the Hulk initially was a stupid, destructive incarnation of Banner's primal side, it was recently integrated with Banner's intellect (in issue #377). Although never reverting to human form, the new Hulk is a far more interesting character than the original.
