SYNOPSIS
Over the last century, thousands of people have disappeared and were presumed dead. Suddenly and inexplicably, 4,400 of those missing people are returned all at once, appearing unchanged from the day they vanished. Unclear what this world altering event means, the government investigates the 4400 to piece together where they've been and why they've returned. It quickly becomes apparent that their presence will change the human race in ways no one could have ever foreseen. The 4400 premieres Sunday, July 11 as a two-hour special from 9:00-11:00 PM ET/PT on USA Network. The 4400 will then air as one-hour episodes on Sundays from 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT for the next four weeks, with the finale on Sunday, August 8th.

The 4400 is executive produced by Ira Behr, Maira Suro, and Rene Echevarria (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine). Scott Peters is co-executive producer. Robert Hewitt Wolfe serves as consulting producer with Craig Sweeney serving as staff writer. The series is produced by Viacom Productions in association with American Zoetrope and Renegade 83. Yves Simoneau directed the 2-hour pilot.

Though the returning 4,400 individuals have not aged physically, some of them seem to have deeper alterations ranging from superhuman strength to an unexplained healing touch. A government agency is formed to track the 4400 people after one of them commits a murder. Peter Coyote stars as Ryland, the no-nonsense boss of the government agency's regional office. Joel Gretsch plays Tom, a straight-laced government agent whose son Kyle (played by Chad Faust) had lapsed into a coma, for no apparent reason, three years earlier. Tom soon realizes that his son's plight may be directly linked to the return of the 4400. Jacqueline McKenzie stars as Diana, a researcher with the bio-medical division of a top government agency who has been assigned as Tom's partner. Michael Moriart guest-stars as Orson, a man returning after 25 years to find his life completely shattered – his wife is now in a run down nursing home, his business has been sold, and his success and fortune are now gone.

Mahershalalhashbaz Ali plays Richard, a pilot presumably killed in action while serving in the Korean War. Laura Allen plays Lily, a young woman who vanished some 13 years ago, leaving her young husband and six-month old daughter behind. Kaj-Erik Eriksen stars as Danny, a handsome all-American youth whose brother Shawn (played by Patrick Flueger) reappears after missing for three years. They are all among the 4400 people who return from the beyond, and like the others, have not aged a day. Also guest starring are Billy Campbell and David Eigenberg.
