This is for a Brand New Universal Grame Mount power brake booster assembly with Disc/Disc Proportioning and residual valves.  This is an under floor frame mount pedal; which includes brackets and pedal assembly for mounting a power booster and master cylinder to your frame.  This universal pedal works great for 1937 to 1946 Chevy pickups and the longer pedal arm makes it a good universal pedal for many Ford, Chevy, Plymouth, and Studebaker street rod pickup truck applications. Also included is a high quality 7" dual booster and master cylinder combo.  This is not a direct fit pedal, so some modification may be needed depending on your application; it is a nice starting point for a lot of these trucks that don't have a direct fit option out there. The dual diaphragm booster gives you 27% better stopping power over the single booster, making it better for cars that will have a heavier load.  This setup is ready for all disc/disc applications.  The master cylinder is a Corvette style master cylinder with a 1" bore.

You'll receive  a Zinc DISC/DISC proportioning valve kit (self adjusting valve, lines and bracket to mount kit to the side of the master cylinder). 

The proportioning valve has a zinc finish.  This valve is also called a combination valve, as it performs all of the necessary valving functions with a disc brake conversion.  These functions include the following:

Proportioning:
As more force is applied to the brakes and the car begins to lean forward, less braking force is needed in the rear.  This valve decreases the pressure to the rear, preventing lock up.

Metering:
Metering is used in the front disk brake portion in the disc/drum system to delay application of the front discs allowing the slower reacting drum brakes to catch up.  This provides rear stability on wet surfaces and helps prevent front pad wear.  There is no metering function with the disc/disc setup.

Residual Pressure:
Drum Brakes require residual pressure of 10 lbs. to be held in the line.  This pressure keeps the brake shoes close to the drums giving you a more firm pedal feel.  The disc/disc setup does not require this pressure.

System Failure Switch:
This valve has a system failure switch that will alert you when half of your braking system is not working properly.


Additionally this includes a pair of residual brake pressure valves. Both are  the 2 Pound Pressure Valve (Blue) for Front and Rear Disc Brakes. These valves are used with a disc brake application where the master cylinder is located under the floor. When the master cylinder is under the floor, it is usually lower than the calipers. Gravity and vibration can cause brake fluid to leak back to the master cylinder away from the calipers, causing a loss of brake pressure. These valves will act as a one way check valve that prevents this type of bleed-back. Without it, there is a good chance that the brakes will drag or give out completely! These valves are an inexpensive and necessary addition to your brake system. This is for TWO valves, one for the front disc brakes and one for the rear disc brakes.

As with any brake job, professional installation is recommended, as it is vital that everything is installed correctly prior to use.  Should you opt to do the install yourself, ALWAYS follow the manufacturer's service and install directions carefully to avoid damage to yourself, your car or its components.
