About Feliks Topolski:
Born in Poland in 1907, Topolski settled in London in 1935 and became a regular contributor to 'Night and Day' along with Graham Greene and Evelyn Waugh. During the Second World War he was an Official War Artist and many of his works are in the Imperial War Museum.
For over half a century Topolski was the leading reportage artist in the world, and in 1955 he was commissioned by CBS to cover the Coronation of HM The Queen. His murals appear all over the world including Buckingham Palace. He is the 'author' of over twenty books, and exhibitions of his work have been held all over the world.
He became a Royal Academician shortly before he died in 1989, and he is buried in Highgate Cemetery opposite Karl Marx.
The drawings from which these prints were made were done for 'Topolski's Legal London' in 1960.
