On auction, we have "California The Beautiful", "Camera Studies By California Artists With Selections In Prose And Verse From Western Writers". This was complied and published by Paul Elder & Company, San Francisco in 1911. It has 38 photogravures on thick tan pages. The photos are attached, not glued down (see picture). The hardcover binding is covered with impressed brown paper that has gold printing and a photograph. The spine is burlap. The book measures 11" X 8 1/2" and weighs 2 pounds 9.5 ounces.
I believe this is in very good condition. The cover is dirty, scratched and scuffed. The spine is worn on the bottom edge. Inside, it is pristine. The pages are clean and clear with excellent illustrations. The book is complete and securely bound. There is no bookplate and no writing inside. As I am not an expert on rare books, please view all photos for more description.
My friend who collects everything is moving to a smaller home and starting to part with some of his favorite things.
I will be happy to answer any questions, send more photographs and, of course, combine your shipping.
