St. Nicholas Magazine Volume XXXI: Part II: An Illustrated Magazine for Young Folks. May, 1904 to October, 1904
Six Issues Bound into One Volume

In a hardcover edition

DESCRIPTION:
Six months of the famed publication of The Century Company bound together.  Includes the months of May, 1904 through Oct., 1904.

Each issue of St. Nicholas includes stories, often by well-known authors, as well as dozens of charming illustrations, photos, riddles, poems, letters, and non-fiction articles written for young people. Included here is a poem entitled "Johnniky Van and the Cannibal Man" by Ellen Manly, illustrated by R. A. Greaef; as well as many submissions. This delightful collection of magazines provides an insight into the way of life in the US in the early 20th century.

Monthly issues of the magazine bound into this volume, without their original covers/wraps. In half tan leather, with brown paper-covered boards.

With the beginnings of a split at front cover, which is firmly attached to the textblock. With rubbing to leather, especially to spine. Textblock is firm, though with some discoloration to a few leaves.

NOTE: This item has been examined for completeness; but missing portions may have been overlooked. If interested in purchasing for a specific story or illustration, please contact the seller prior to ordering in order to confirm that the story/illustration is included.

A NOTE ABOUT USED BOOKS AND CONDITION VALUES

I rate books and dust jackets on a scale from AS NEW to POOR, as follows:
AS NEW - Used when the book or dust jacket is in the same immaculate condition as when it was published, with no defects.
FINE - Approaches the condition of AS NEW, but lacking the crispness of a new book. These books or dust jackets should have no defects.
NEAR FINE - Approaching FINE but with slight flaws.
VERY GOOD - Describes a book or dust jacket that does show some small signs of wear or slight damage.
GOOD - Describes the average used worn book or jacket that has flaws and/or damages. An old bookseller said it best: 'Good ain't good.'
FAIR - Worn book or jacket that is stained, has loose pages, tears, or otherwise has some sort of significant damage or other issue.
POOR - Describes a book that is worn, damaged, stained or otherwise beat-up, making it useful as a reading copy but possibly not a collector copy. A POOR dust jacket is likely heavily torn, chipped or otherwise damaged.

(A  ' + ' or a ' - ' can indicate a shading of these values...either a nudge up, or a nudge down.)
