The Caribbean Red Habanero is an insanely hot pepper, averaging 400,000 Scoville units. The plants are compact and grow to about 30 inches tall and produce 1 1/2 x 2 inch red peppers, which have a wonderful, citrus, smoky flavor underneath all of the heat. Be very careful when preparing and eating these beauties because they can cause you extreme discomfort if handled incorrectly of if you eat too many, but for the true hot pepper lover this is a great choice!
