This is a rare and antique hardback book titled "Ivanhoe" by Sir Walter Scott. The book was published by Donohue Henneberry & Co in Chicago, United States. The book has some special attributes such as an 1817 Dedicatory Epistle and an 1830 Introduction to Ivanhoe. It is an original piece and not a reproduction.

Overall the pages are in amazing condition considering the age. The top of the pages have gilding (gold edges). A few pages have light discoloration spots, see photo. The binding is intact and still holding the book together. It seems like someone pushed the book flat when reading and I found the smallest tiniest rocks in the seam (see photo). I removed the ones i found, the rock colors reminded me of ones found near Glacier National Park. With its long life, I’m curious of the travel history and previous owners of this book. The woven backing material at the spine is holding strong while the inside cover paper has deteriorated at the bend. The cover has protected this book for decades and it has a lot of wear and discoloration. See photos for conditions.
