ANTIQUE LITTLE COLONEL SERIES BOOK

Charming antique hardbound book from the LITTLE COLONEL series by Annie Fellows Johnston, measuring about 8" by 5-1/2" in size at 317 pages long. Titled MARY WARE'S PROMISED LAND, it features an elegant woman riding sidesaddle, as she trots through the gates of a palatial home. Book is dated 1919 with personalized book plate on the interior front page as shown. Cover is tinted, and spine matches the subject of the volume - there is tissue covering the first image in the book and a hand written price on the interior page in pencil (what I paid).

Condition is good with cover soiling, a tiny tear to the linen cover on the spine edge, and light usage marks - please note that several of the illustration pages are loose as shown - this was a known problem with the publisher and printing process. A lovely antique book - cover is beautiful - nice addition to any collection or display and priced with the minor issue in mind.
