I've taken special care in selecting a battery and a MicroSD card for this PSP to insure a good experience with your purchase. Sandisk and Patriot are known to be a reliable name-brands, and I've selected batteries that are known to be reliable (many on the market are not) by testing multiple manufacturers to insure consistent quality.
This PSP 1000 has been upgraded with the latest custom firmware, ARK-4, which will give you access to a great number of custom homebrew applications, games, utilities, etc. It comes loaded with software to play MP3s, read books, and a couple of fun little games.
I've included a USB data cable/combo charger with the 64GB micro SD card, which should have than enough space for your PSP/PS1 games, Homebrew apps and games, some books and a respectable number of MP3s!
Custom firmware gives you some great new options, described below, or just enjoy the machine as you always have. The custom firmware is just waiting beneath the surface, power for you to enjoy or ignore as you enjoy your PSP!
Getting access to custom firmware allows you to unlock the true potential of this little powerhouse machine. Transferring games you own on UMD to the sizeable memory card on this machine will save you significantly on battery power! The UMD drive can be turned off inside the firmware for greater power savings...power that you can use within the firmware to increase clock speed (overclock) and improve in-game performance!
All of these changes and more are available to you with this device, easily accessible from the special VSH menu system, with just a press of the Select button. Want to change the background graphics, or put your own picture up on your PSP? Maybe you need to skip the Sony Logo from playing every time you startup? It's all in the firmware. PowerSave or Balanced Energy mode... also in the firmware.
Additionally, this unit is region free for games. Movies can be set to ANY region easily from the Pro VSH menu system (hit select button, recovery menu/configuration/Fake region. Left arrow to select region).
There are a lot of oldschool console emulators for the PSP on the above site too, SNES, NES, GENESIS, even GBA all play very well on this system, in my experience!
This is an import item so the "O" button is "enter" and the "X" button is "back" when you are in the home dashboard or when you are exiting a game, but has no other impacts on your use of the device.
