Selling here is Alexander Adam's 'A Summary of Geography and History....', published in London, 1824. A complete copy with all thirteen folding maps present as called for.

8vo, bound in worn gilt ruled green calf, upper board detached, spine with four broad raised bands and remains of red morocco label, all page edges speckled red. Period plain endpapers, upper fe removed, pastdown with armorial bookplate over another bookplate, ink manuscript ownership at head of titlepage.

The book measures 14.5cm by 22cm.

The contents are complete, meeting collation: xi, [1], 727, [1]pp, with all thirteen folding maps present as called for.

Condition: The binding is defective as described above, extensively rubbed and scuffed with upper board detached and loss to the calf, backstrip lifting at foot of spine,chipped to extremities, bumped and abraded to corners. Textblock is holding firmly in the main, final leaf of text an endpaper loose. Contents and generally in good condition, a little toned with sporadic foxing, notably heavy to index at rear, occasional handling marks and offsetting from the plates, portion torn from foredge to pp381/2 and repaired teat at foot of pp287/8 plates in good condition. Bookplates and ownership marks as noted above.
