Art Dunham's curiosity gets the better of him when his
father rents his theatre to a rather odd troupe of performers. They don't
rehearse with scripts, require no technical help--and then there's that strange
door in the basement that leads to somewhere else . . .

To Prospective
Buyers….
Please see my
profile ‘page’ for important announcements (if any). Thank you.
This update is
dated 14 March 2022.
Checkout Instructions.
Note 1:
Royal Mail is used for delivery and all postage rates shown
(on this listing) are based on their
increase in rates as at April 2022.
UK rates should be accurate for the item(s) advertised (on this listing), including the cost for
loss or damage of the item(s). Standard compensation for items posted within
the UK is only up to £20…Note that this covers the Purchase Price and not
what the Buyer thinks the item might be worth! Postage quoted when multiple
items are purchased will automatically be calculated based on the weight and
value of the ‘bundle’ (also see Note 2).
For multiples, I will wait and
combine them when you have finished ‘shopping’ (see Note 3 for more information). Simply add them to the basket and
then request an invoice.
All Customers please note:
1. In February 2021 a
valuable hardcover was damaged in the post (the dustjacket was torn by a few
inches, thus de-valuing the item) and, needless to say perhaps, the customer
was not too well pleased. The item was insured for up to £1000 and I raised a
claim for £250, the cost of a professional repair. Photographs were provided as
part of the claim process (before and after the damage), however this was to no
avail. Royal Mail would not pay for the damages because the packaging
was not kept by the customer. Although this has only happened to me once
before in the UK, in all the years I have been selling my collection
(International Postage is a different “kettle of fish”), the message is
absolutely clear. If you receive an item that looks damaged please photograph
it immediately before opening. Then open the package carefully and keep it [the packaging] to one side. If the
contents are fine and as I described on the listing then all is well. If
however there is damage to the item then please [also] take pictures of that. Contact me immediately and I will take
it from there once you have provided the relevant evidence. Put the item and
its packaging safely to one side for further examination as appropriate.
2. I cannot refund
overpayment of Postage & Packing (P&P) as I have done in the past. On
multiple (combined) purchases please, please use the Shopping Basket and
request an invoice….do NOT pay at checkout. I can then apply the correct
P&P amounts to the invoice. In fact, if in any doubt that the P&P is
not correct for your situation please request an invoice. It saves a lot of
time and trouble for both of us!
International Customers please note:
Please note that I will post worldwide. However, I am only
able to show 4 International rates (Royal Mail Tracked & Signed) on my
listings and cannot cater for every weight, postage method and eventuality.
They are generally as follows:
> Europe - is now (from
April 2022) split into 3 Zones and the highest priced Zone is shown on
every listing
> World Zone 1 - Asia, Africa, North & South America
(excl. USA)
> World Zone 2 - Oceania (incl. Singapore)
> World Zone 3 - USA
Therefore, please ask for an invoice (also see Note 2).
Standard compensation for items posted internationally is
only up to £50…Note that this covers the Purchase Price and not what the
Buyer thinks the item might be worth! Any purchase cost greater than this will
incur the additional ‘insurance’ cost
If you have any questions at all please contact me and I
will get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you very much.
Note 2:
As may be appreciated some of the items I am selling are
very scarce, because of their age or because they are Limited and/or Signed
Editions, etc., and many are also quite valuable/costly. As a Private
Seller I am unable to refund the cost of any loss or damage out of my own
pocket; thus the Postage quoted always includes the compensation charges (as
listed by the courier).
However, I do appreciate that the cost of postage is high (and getting more costly as time goes by!)
and will send items by Standard Post (UK) or International Standard if requested.
BUT…I will ask that the Buyer sends me
written confirmation that they will not claim from me in the event of loss or
damage. Thank you for your understanding on this point.
If you know of an alternative method of postage which you
would prefer me to use I am always happy to listen….just message me. I will try
to be as flexible and accommodating as I can. Any questions on the above, or
anything to do with my listings, please contact me. I am generally available
Monday through Friday and will answer soonest.
Note 3: Yes,
I will combine items to optimise postage costs.
I am always happy to do multiple purchases with
combined postage. Please follow these steps; otherwise you will end up paying
the P&P on all items:
> Click on the 'Add to basket' button and not the 'Buy it
now'. A separate ‘window’ will pop up after each selection. Click on “See all”
at the foot of the window to return to listings and continue shopping.
> On completing your selections click on 'Go to basket',
do not use the 'Checkout n items' -
this is important. You are now on a window which allows you to review all items
(with the total amounts), remove items or even continue shopping again.
> Finally, do not
use the “Go to checkout” button or you will end up paying the entire bill. At
the top of the list of items you should find “Request total”, click on that and
wait for me to send you an invoice with the correct P&P amount (this will include the appropriate loss or
damage cover for the shipment). As far as I am aware this will also work
for a single item and this is where you would ask for an invoice with P&P
for your particular situation (country, cover, etc.).
The important thing is to communicate your intentions so we
can agree on the protocol for your specific situation (always within the eBay
rules abiding at the time). I have various sizes of cardboard
and mail-lite envelopes, a couple of different size of cardboard
boxes, etc.; along with various and many packing materials!!
General: Please
know that I am a private seller listing my book collection from over 60 years
and of some 7 thousand+ items. The books and magazines are the genuine article
as described in the listings and I try to be as detailed as I can with regard
to the condition of each item (I err on the side of caution). I am happy to
answer any questions and will answer honestly and to the best of my ability.
Thank you for your
attention and happy browsing.
