Excerpt from Results of Seed Tests: Made July 1, 1929, to June 30, 1930 (Classic Reprint)

The summary table on the last page will show the general results of the seed inspection work for the year ending June 30, 1930. A large proportion of the samples were found to be satisfactory but in purity more samples of Hungarian and Japanese millet were found to be below their guarantees than last year, and in germination the same was true of Japanese millet and Timothy. Last year 88% of all samples were found satisfactory or better in purity and 83% were found satisfactory or better in ger mination. This year the corresponding figures are 86% and While these figures perhaps are not alarming, they show a trend in the wrong direction.
