Excerpt from The Colonnade, Vol. 4: March, 1942 (Classic Reprint)

To Florence Thierry, Imogen Claytor, Kath erine Johnson, Lois Alphin', and Elizabeth Good win, for their prize-winning poems which appear in this issue. There is something very nice about a poetry contest, even for those of us who do the work of planning, publicizing, managing, and judg~ ing. For instance, there was one girl who wrote a lovely and inspirational poem, prefacing it with the statement: If this poem should win a prize, please give the money to the Red Cross. I prefer to remain Anonymous.
