This kit is designed for a drop-in fit on most American Fender Telecasters as well as Mexican made Telecasters. All you need to do is solder the pickups and grounds and you’re ready to set sail on your journey for that treasured tone. Some import guitars may require minor adjustment to the control plate or cavity to fit this kit along with US-spec knobs.
Reverse Mod:
Your Volume and Tone knob too far away for swells and control? This harness is specifically for Reverse Modding your Telecaster! This will put the Volume knob at the top, then the Tone knob, and the Pickup Selector Switch at the bottom. This keeps the Volume and Tone closer to your picking / strumming hand and helps significantly in being able to attenuate your Volume and Tone on the fly.

Sprague Orange Drop Capacitors:
Sprague was the leading name in Capacitors, and in the mid-20th century produced capacitors for industry, the military, and aerospace. The Orange Drop capacitor line introduced in the 60’s heralded the capacitors of the modern era-with stability, resistance to temperature variation, low moisture absorption, excellent characteristics, no microphonics, and other desirable attributes. In guitars, Orange Drop capacitors provide the stability and precision, therefore consistent tone, that professionals expect. Other precision capacitors would be suitable, but Orange Drop capacitors have a well-deserved reputation for quality that has proven itself for close to half a century. With a track record like that, it’s hard not to trust the most popular tone capacitor chosen by guitarists.
Don’t All Capacitors with the Same Value Sound the Same?
Nope! There are two different capacitor classes: for ease we’ll call them premium and cheapos. Premium tone capacitors are generally within 1-10% of their target value. Cheapos, often found in knock-offs or beginner guitars, can be as far as 80% off from their target value. Capacitance can also vary with frequency, temperature, and applied voltage; some ceramic capacitors are even somewhat microphonic. If your guitar uses a cheap capacitor and you think your guitar sounds different under stage lights than when you’re offstage, you’re probably right.
